Fresh Off The Runway 2016 Makeup Trends

Spring fashion shows bring in some of the most talented makeup artists in the world to create inspiring looks for runway models. These makeup looks round out the clothes and turn models into the girl that fashion designers have envisioned for their collections.  Everything from eyes covered in sequins, to two-inch wide eyebrows, can walk down any given runway during fashion week; yet these looks don’t always translate well in day-to-day life. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still rock the look – we just need to do some editing. For that, we turned to the pros. We worked with Houston makeup artist Lisa Capuchino to help us interpret our favorite s/s fresh off the runway 2016 makeup trends for our non-runway life. Read her tips below:

1. Minimal Makeup

Minimal makeup is the perfect look any time. Since the focus is on the skin, you want to make sure it is well hydrated. Follow up with a barely there coverage of a BB Cream, cream blush, mascara and Rosebud Salve Lip Balm.

 2. Big Lashes

Lashes are a playful way of giving your eyes that extra pop. Try using a pair of Shu Uemura strip lashes for added volume. Stack 2 pair of lashes and a few strategically placed individuals for more fullness and high drama.

3. Red Lips

Red lips are a classic and bold beauty move. You can’t go wrong wearing it. If you have to ask, Yes! There is a red lipstick for everyone. I love the Ben Nye Lip Creme in Fire Red our model is wearing.

Seen in: Victoria Beckham, Jason Wu, DKNY, Marchesa.

4. Blue Eyeliner

The wing liner is a definite staple in eye make up looks. You wear it to make a statement. Take it up a notch by adding a Make Up Forever Aqua Eyeliner in Turquoise.

Seen in: Dianne Von Furstenburg, Marc Jacobs, BOSS, Phillip Lim.

5. Gold Glitter Shadow

Glitter is golden this season. Don’t be afraid, you can make it wearable by placing it on the eyelid and slightly in to the crease. Brush the eyelashes with a coat of mascara. No mess tip; use a small concealer brush to apply Too Faced Glitter Glue and then add glitter on top.

6. Full Color Eyes

Spring 2016 brought on a lot of color. Various hues of pretty, bold pinks were definitely seen on the runways. Give the color a try by sweeping on Tarte’s Woodstock eye shadow for a stunningly vibrant change.
