Villa Wanderlust Pop-up Boutique

Houston has been labeled the most ethnically diverse city in the United States, yet that fact isn’t often appreciated like it should be. Thankfully, Villa Wanderlust aimed to remind us all of the rich culture our city has. At this two day pop up boutique, Sarrah Zadeh (La Mochi) and Joy Kennedy (Priya) brought together local designers and boutique owners to feature luxury goods from around the world.

Everything from Columbian handbags to Indian bracelets to Californian designers was on display in the bedrooms and living areas of a historic home in Neartown.  As guests wandered in between rooms with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from local restaurants, they talked with shop owners and designers about their collections. However, the product on the tables did not remain the subject of these conversations for long. Every piece in the house had a story and designers shone as they talked about the countries, people, and the causes that inspired them.  So when people left the boutique that weekend, they didn’t simply leave with a bag or a shirt. They left with pieces that will be cherished as reminders of the diversity of our city.

Among other designers, Villa Wanderlust featured: Brooke Feather, Elle Milady, Baanou, {temple street}, Kandu Collections & Vali Bello.
